Coastal Garden

When you have a sea view as good and expansive as the one seen from this site, then what is designed between the house and this view doesn’t want to be too distracting. The eye will always be drawn to the long view of the horizon and sea, and this is better achieved without too many distractions in the foreground. The only essential for our clients was the provision of vegetable and herb beds close to the kitchen door, after that they had no strong feelings. We proposed a simple design of long meadow grass with the eye being drawn along a central mown path and over a painted timber gate. A large retained oak tree frames the view.
