Potting Shed Garden

After securing consent for alterations and additions to the main house (a delightful arts and crafts villa overlooking a ruined church) we were asked to look at a small piece of land, unused at the time, and located between a rather nice potting shed and a back access lane.

Responding to the site and its various constraints we designed a sunken circular garden to provide a quite corner in which to sit, with a canopied entrance gate set within an existing hedge.

The design needed planning consent and the proposal was highly commended by the Local Authority Conservation Officer.
