Instant height, framing and screening. Our arts and crafts garden design is starting to take shape, thanks to the magnificently talented @nursery_cottage_gardening
It’s fair to say that we get a lot of pleasure designing joinery, and it’s equally rewarding seeing our designs brought to life by local craftsmen. Seeing this new front door with letter box hatch was a happy moment, and one of the last joinery items to be delivered to our arts and crafts Suffolk house project.
With restoration works to the main house nearing completion we are delighted to see the garden room we designed now taking shape. Located in a highly sensitive location on Gun Hill, Southwold - with unbeatable views of the Suffolk coast - the design received full support from planning and conservation officers and it is rewarding to see the building already looking part of its historic setting.
Thoroughly enjoyable two days on site with the inimitable @conlinruddesign choosing paint colours, fixtures and finishes for our Suffolk arts and crafts house commission. Light fitting height over kitchen island input deftly provided by Will, the tallest member of the @paulbradleyarchitecture team.

The delivery and installation of joinery items we have designed is always an enjoyable time on site, particularly when the items define room shapes or establish sight lines between spaces.
Any idea what this is? Clue in second photo.
On site recently and impressed to see that George, the site manager, had made tools to ensure the plaster is struck to a perfect 45 degree angle for our corner bead details. Great attention to detail, as always, from the inimitable @bluedoorconstructionltd
Beautiful late summer visit to see a country house in Suffolk we restored and remodelled several years ago. Our work has settled down, the landscape has grown and embraced the changes and our clients have added warmth. What started out as a house with good bones but showing the scars of a comprehensive programme of unfortunate alterations (including a full size squash court where once there were kitchens and servants bedrooms) has become the most enchanting house and landscape; welcoming, serene and really rather special.
