Untouched since the 1970s, and suffering from its exposed coastal location, this Grade II listed Regency house required considerable intervention, including the rebuilding of large sections of its stone cobble walls and eroded brick chimneys. We proposed the demolition and replacement of a porch and single storey additions to the rear, and the design of a new kitchen / dining room and utility, reconfiguration of bedrooms / bathrooms, creation of an internal lightwell / library, production of joinery details for doors, windows, architraves, skirtings, shutters and bench seats. Drawings were prepared by this office for plaster cornices to the main rooms, which were produced by Stepehsons of Norwich.
We advised regarding exterior paint colours. A replacement iron balcony was designed to better suit the house and to reflect local detailing. Interior design work was completed by Veere Grenney, hard landscaping scheme was by this office, with planting by the talented Xa Tollemache.
