Conservation Area Appraisals and Management Plans
We have been engaged by Suffolk Coastal District Council and Waveney District Council to research and write appraisals for Conservation Areas.
Where a Conservation Area is the subject of a statutory review, we have reappraised existing documents and updated, supplemented or rewritten them as necessary. Our role has also included the review of designated boundaries, researching and writing comprehensive ‘Local Lists’ of significant structures, and presenting proposed documents to the community affected by the appraisal.
We have provided a consultancy service for a Parish Council in Suffolk, advising them with regard to the suitability of their village becoming a Conservation Area, and this included drawing up a proposed boundary and identifying structures that contribute positively to the locality.
To date commissioned work has involved settlements within the county of Suffolk, although our geographical knowledge, understanding of planning legislation and the heritage sector means this service has no regional limitations.
